PLOW REPAIRS

Building a Plow
Back in 2008, a customer brought us an old (very old) ST Series Meyer plow to see if it could be repaired. There was nothing on it worth saving. Every part of it was twisted, bent, or worn out. We offered to build a new ST-78, and he agreed.
Here is what he brought to us.

Here we laid out the frame using the new skin as a jig. The skin is 8' long, and will be trimmed later.

Here the frame is tack welded together. It is not welded to the skin. This is because we want to weld both sides of the frame rib ends to the top and base angles.

Making sure the sector pivots freely in the pivot tubes. The crossbrace between the inner ribs is not welded on yet.

Marking the crossbrace. Now the frame is welded to the skin too.

Since the sector will block a portion of the back of the blade, we primed and painted that area with Meyer Sno Flo Black spray paint.

Skin trimmed to length. Cutting edge (from a TM6.5) mounted loosely.

Just need to adjust the trip springs, and it is ready for the customer to pick up, and paint. Every piece of this plow is brand new.
